Custom Trim & Finish Carpentry in Emmet & Charlevoix County
Trim is what people notice and touch every day. With 19 years in the trade, I install trim that fits tight, runs straight, and makes a room feel finished.
How I approach it
Good finish carpentry is mostly patience: walls that aren't straight, floors that aren't level, and corners that aren't square. I scribe, cope, and shim so the finished work looks right even when the house underneath isn't perfect.
Whether you're finishing a new build, updating a few rooms, or matching original trim in an older home, I'll help you pick profiles that suit the house and install them so the joints stay tight through Northern Michigan's seasonal swings.

Common questions
Can you match existing trim in an older home?
Often, yes. Many common profiles are still available, and I can source close matches or combine moldings to recreate a profile. I'll let you know what's possible after I see it.
Do you take on small trim jobs?
Yes. A single room of baseboard or a few doors is welcome, just as much as trimming out a whole house.
What's the difference between paint-grade and stain-grade?
Paint-grade trim is usually primed MDF or finger-jointed pine and is made to be painted. Stain-grade is solid wood chosen for its grain, so joints and nail holes have to be cleaner. Both have their place, and I can walk you through the trade-offs.
